What We Believe
We believe the whole Bible from Genesis to Revelation!
-
The Bible is the inspired Word of God, a revelation from God to mankind, the infallible rule of faith and conduct, and is superior to conscience and reason, but not contrary to reason (2 Timothy 3:15-16; 1 Peter 2:2).
-
The one true God has revealed Himself as the eternally self-existent “I AM,” the Creator of heaven and earth and the Redeemer of mankind. He has further revealed Himself as embodying the principles of relationship and association as Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 43:10, 11; Matthew 28:19; Luke 3:22).
-
The Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. The Scriptures declare His virgin birth (Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:31; Luke 1:35), His sinless life (Hebrews 7:26; 1 Peter 2:22), His miracles (Acts 2:22; Acts 10:38), His substitutionary work on the cross (1 Corinthians 15:3; 2 Corinthians 5:21), His bodily resurrection from the dead (Matthew 28:6; Luke 24:39; 1 Corinthians 15:4), His exaltation to the right hand of God (Acts 1:9; Acts 1:11; Acts 2:33; Philippians 2:9-11; Hebrews 1:3).
That man was created good and upright, for God said “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.” But man, by voluntary transgression, fell, and his only hope of redemption is in Jesus Christ the Son of God (Genesis 1:26-31: 3:1-7; Romans 5:12-21).
Man’s only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ the Son of God. Salvation is received through repentance toward God and faith toward the Lord Jesus Christ. By the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, being justified by grace through faith, man becomes an heir of God, according to the hope of eternal life (Luke 24:47; John 3:3; Romans 10:13-15; Ephesians 2:8; Titus 2:11; Titus 3:5-7). The inward evidence of salvation is the direct witness of the Spirit (Romans 8:16). The outward evidence to all men is a life of righteousness and true holiness (Ephesians 4:24; Titus 2:12).
-
The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Godhead. He is co-equal, co-eternal and co-existent with the Father and with the Son. His ministry upon the earth is to convict and convert man as well as be the great paraclete (comforter, counselor, helper, intercessor, advocate, strengthener and standby) to the Church. The baptism of the Holy Spirit and Fire is a gift from God as promised by the Lord Jesus to all believers and is received subsequent to and is distinct from the experience of New Birth. With it comes the enduement of power for life and service, the bestowment of the gifts and their uses in the work of the ministry (Luke 24:29; Acts 1:4; 1:8; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31). The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is meant to empower the believer to be a witness of Jesus Christ by the preaching and demonstration of the Gospel. The gifts of the Holy Spirit are also evidence of this experience. Whereas there is one initial baptism, there are many subsequent infillings of the Spirit. The ultimate purpose of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is so that we, the believers, may have power to be witnesses (Matthew 3:11; John 14:16-17; Acts 1:8; Acts 2).
-
The Lord Jesus Christ, Head of the Church, established two ordinances for the Church to follow: Water Baptism and Communion. Baptism in water, by full immersion, is a direct commandment of our Lord. It is for all believers. This holy sacrament identifies the believer with Jesus in His death, burial and resurrection (Matthew 28:19; Acts 10:47-48; Romans 6:4; Acts 20:21; Hebrews 10:22).
-
The ordinance of Communion is also a commandment of the Lord Jesus that must be received consistently until His return. Only believers can come to the Table of the Lord, which consists of the bread and the cup. The bread – His body, which was broken for us. The cup – His blood that was shed for us. Both elements are witnesses of the New Covenant believers now enjoy while prophetically declaring His soon return (2 Peter 1:4; 1 Corinthians 11:26).
-
The Scripture teaches that without holiness no man can see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14). We believe in the Doctrine of Sanctification as a definite, yet progressive work of grace, commencing at the time of regeneration and continuing until the consummation of salvation at Christ’s return. (I Thessalonians 5:23; 1 Corinthians 1:30; 2 Corinthians 3:18; Philippians 3:12-14)
-
The church is the body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit with divine appointments for the fulfillment of the great commission. Each believer, born of the Spirit, is an integral part of the church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven (Ephesians 1:22-23; 2:22; Hebrews 12:33).
A divinely called and scripturally ordained ministry has been provided by our Lord for the threefold purpose of leading the Church in: Evangelization of the world (Mark 16:15-20); worship of God (John 4:23,24); edification of the body of Christ (Ephesians 4:11-16).
-
Deliverance from sickness is provided for in the atonement and is the privilege of all believers (Isaiah 53:4-5; Matthew 8:16-17).
-
The resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in Christ and their translation, together with those who are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord, is the imminent and blessed hope of the church (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Titus 2:12; 1 Corinthians 15:51-52; Romans 8:23).
-
The revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ from heaven, the salvation of national Israel, and the Millennial reign of Christ on earth is the Scriptural promise and the world’s hope (2 Thessalonians 1:17; Revelation 19:11-14; Romans 11:26-27; Revelation 20:1-7).
-
There will be a final judgment in which the wicked dead will be raised and judged according to their works. Whosoever is not found written in the Book of Life, together with the devil and his angels, the beast and the false prophet, will be consigned to everlasting punishment in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death (Revelation 19:20; Revelation 20:10-15).
-
We believe in unconditional love for everyone while remaining unwavering in our loyalty to God’s Holy word. We believe that because God our Creator established marriage as a sacred institution between one man and one woman, the idea that marriage is a covenant only between one man and one woman has been the traditional definition of marriage for all of human history ("Traditional Definition of Marriage"). Because of the longstanding importance of the Traditional Definition of Marriage to humans and their relationships and communities, and, most importantly, the fact that God has ordained that marriage be between one man and one woman, as clearly conveyed in God's inerrant Scriptures, including for example in Matthew 19:4-6 where in speaking about marriage Jesus referred to the fact that "he which made them at the beginning made them male and female," the Church hereby creates this policy, which shall be known as the "Marriage Policy."
Marriage.
Statement of Marriage.
The Traditional Definition of Marriage is the only definition of marriage that will be recognized or accepted. No elder, employee or any person, corporation, organization, or entity under the direction or control of this Church shall commit any act or omission, or make any decision whatever, that would be inconsistent with, or that could be perceived by any person to be inconsistent with, full support of this Church's Marriage Policy and strict adherence to the Traditional Definition of Marriage rather than any alternative to the Traditional Definition of Marriage.**
This Church's Marriage Policy specifically prohibits acts or omissions including but not limited to permitting any Church assets or property, whether real property, personal property, intangible property, or any property or asset of any kind that is subject to the direction or control of the Church, to be used in any manner that would be or could be perceived by any person to be inconsistent with this Church's Marriage Policy or the Traditional Definition of Marriage, including but not limited to permitting any church facilities to be used by any person, organization, corporation, or group that would or might use such facilities to convey, intentionally or by implication, what might be perceived as a favorable impression about any definition of marriage other than the Traditional Definition of Marriage.
We believe this Church's Marriage Policy is based upon God's will for human life as conveyed to us through the Holy Scriptures, upon which this Church has been founded and anchored, and this Marriage Policy shall not be subject to change through popular vote; referendum; prevailing opinion of members or the general public; influence of or interpretation by any government authority, agency, or official action; or legal developments on the local, state, or federal level.

Our Culture
THE VISION
Church of Acts exists to daily minister to the Lord, encounter Him, and obey Him.
OUR VALUES
Communication
DOWNSHIFT
We believe communication gives us an opportunity to bring our hearts and minds into unity. Communication protects us from confusion and false assumptions. We slow down to understand what is in the heart and mind of one another, so that we can move forward in unity.
Philippians 2:2-3, Isaiah 11:2, 1 Corinthians 1:10, Proverbs 18:13, 1 Corinthians 14:33
Consecration
ALL IN
God’s love is like a blazing fire, burning away everything that is not of Him. We will yield to His refining fire and live a life of consecration, being set apart for His glory. They will know us by our love.
Song of Sol. 8:6, John 13:35, 2 Corinthians 6:17, Leviticus 19:2
Feedback
HEAR HEAR
We believe healthy feedback is a two-way street. We welcome opportunities to hear what is in your heart, and to share what is in ours. We believe feedback helps to ensure personal growth and excellence.
Ephesians 4:15, Proverbs 1:5, Proverbs 19:20, James 1:19
Fellowship
FULLY KNOWN
We value intimacy with the Lord and intimacy with each other. The deeper we go in communion, the stronger we become. This is where we care for, serve and celebrate one another.
Matthew 7:21-23, John 15:5, Col. 3:14-15, Romans 12:15, Acts 4:32-3, John 14:8-12
Forgiveness
IT’S NOT AN OPTION
Forgiveness is not an option. We forgive because we have been forgiven. Forgiveness ultimately frees us and is for us. When we forgive, we look most like Jesus. When we forgive, we can receive love from God.
Matthew 6:14-15, Luke 7:47-48
Generosity
OPEN HANDED
Generosity is a matter of the heart. An open heart before the Lord results in an open hand to others. We will give up our finances, resources, time, and talents, understanding that everything we have comes from the Lord.
Matthew 25:40, Proverbs 19:17, Deuteronomy 10:14, Acts 2:45
Health
LEADERS GO FIRST
We remain healthy by prioritizing daily personal encounters with God, pursuing purity, putting family first, and protecting our sabbath so we can lead others in health.
Matthew 6:33, Proverbs 3:5-8
Honesty
HEART TO HEART
We speak the truth, bringing it all to the table. We are honest with what we are thinking and feeling. To not disclose everything, and then to do it afterwards with a friend, causes discord. Honesty builds trust.
Proverbs 6:16-19, Ephesians 4:1-3, James 5:16, Colossians 3:9-10, Matthew 18:3-4
Partnership
WHAT CAN I BRING
We value working together. We don’t believe in a one man show. God created the body to function and move, together, with each one bringing their part to the table. We empower the body to function how God designed.
1 Corinthians 12:12-31, Romans 12:4-8, Ephesians 4:15-16
Honor
FAN THE FLAME
Honor is valuing what God values. A heart of honor will see others through a lens of kingdom identity. Honor fans the flame of God within others. We value the person over the position.
Romans 12:10, 2 Timothy 1:6, 1 Corinthians 12:12-27
Stewardship
WHAT’S IN YOUR HAND
Stewardship requires discipline and intentionality. We will discipline ourselves to be good stewards of our bodies, gifts, talents, the mysteries of God, and the gospel of Jesus. Everything we have belongs to the Lord and we will be good stewards of His kingdom.
Romans 12:6-8, 1 Corinthians 4:1, 1 Timothy 4:7-8, 1 Cor. 3:16, Galatians 5:16, Mark 16:15
Submission
GO LOW
A heart of submission comes low to the table, when presenting ideas, words, and vision. We believe submission provides safety and gives us a full picture of what God is saying. We submit to God and one another. We empower vision that is submitted to authority.
Psalm 91:4, James 4:7, Hebrews 13:17, Matthew 18:3-4
OUR UNIQUE CHARACTERISTICS
Presence Driven
We are not built around any person or ministry. We are built around the presence of God. We consistently ask God for His mind and His heart for His house.
Exodus 33:13-18, Psalm 105:4, 1 Samuel 2:35
Boldness
We don’t back down, we lean in. We will speak the truth in love, as we are led by the Holy Spirit. We will stand up and speak up about heavenly justice and righteousness!
Matthew 10:19-20, Esther 4:16, Acts 4:31, Daniel 3:16-18, Proverbs 21:3
Generations
We serve the God of Isaac, Abraham, and Jacob. We need those who have gone before us and those coming after us. Discipleship is found when we connect the generations.
Psalm 89:1, Psalm 145:4, Matthew 28:19-20
We Empower Women in Ministry
We endorse and promote women in ministry. We empower women to fulfill the Biblical call of God on their lives.
Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 2:17, Acts 18:26
Undignified Worship
We offer our lives as a living sacrifice with prayer, fasting and high praise. We are undignified, all in for Jesus!
2 Cor. 2:15, Romans 12:1, Galatians 5:24, 2 Samuel 6:21-22, Psalm 100

Matthew 6:7-15, Proverbs 8:34, John 15:4, 1 Samuel 3:10
Sabbath
We are committed to honor the Sabbath. We set apart one day a week and keep it holy unto the Lord. The Sabbath was made for us to rest, heal and hear God.
Hebrews 4:9, Exodus 20:8, Isaiah 56:2, Ezekiel 20:12, Mark 3:1-6
Unity
The favor of God is found in unity. Our desire is to be in perfect unity with the Holy Spirit, which brings us into unity with one another! We understand that unity pleases the Lord.
